Frequently Asked Questions
I've never had a massage before, what can I expect?
Upon arrival you will be asked to fill out a health history form. After a treatment plan has been determined, the therapist will leave the room and allow you to disrobe and get comfortable on the table. The therapist will knock before entering the room and make sure you are comfortable before beginning. The therapist will check in with you periodically throughout your first treatment to make sure that you are comfortable and that they are using appropriate pressure.
What are the benefits of massage therapy?
Massage therapy provides many benefits. It can help with musculoskeletal dysfunction, circulation, fibromyalgia, high blood pressure, insomnia, nerve pain, stress, injury, trauma, post-surgical recovery, headaches, mental health, and so much more. The benefits of massage therapy have been widely recognized across many scientific studies. It is a great way to enhance both mental and physical wellness.
Do you direct bill insurance companies?
Yes! We are happy to direct bill most insurance companies. Ask our staff about your plan.
Do I have to take off my clothes?
An effective treatment can be given regardless of the amount of clothing (if any!) you chose to remove. Some people remove all clothing, while others leave certain undergarments on. Your comfort and ability to relax is number one. During treatment the therapist will only uncover the part of your body they are treating. Our therapists use professional draping techniques to make sure you feel safe and secure.
What can I expect from Craniosacral therapy?
This modality is extremely relaxing and is similar to healing touch therapies. The therapist will use multiple light touch hand placements to address areas of restriction in the body. Everybody responds differently to this treatment. It is not uncommon to experience physical and/or emotional release after or during a session.
Craniosacral therapy has not been extensively researched and therefore has no evidential proof to its claims. However, benefits of relaxation, which is the key component to any craniosacral treatment, have been widely recognized as beneficial across many scientific studies.
